UnityUK: A bright future for Interlending in the UK

The major elements of the UK’s Interlending Framework have been in constant change since 1916. Past and current imperfections are attributed to the absence of strategic focus, political and commercially based schism, and technology.
Progress has been made with the advent of UnityUK. Now, a renaissance in ILL activity in the UK will occur if a project under consideration is launched. The potential of the national network to deliver a popular, convenient service-on an Amazon model-has been seen as a ‘big idea’. This could turn the tide on the decline of interlending and on the fall in public library use.
